A tough poker hands question this week. Let’s dive straight in
Question: I played yesterday, and when it came to lay down the cards on the table, one of us said he had 3 of a kind when actually he had a full house (for some reason, he didn't see the 2 of a kind in the flop, dah!) - what counts? the fact he said he has 3 of a kind of the full house?
Answer: That's why in Casinos there are posted house rules. Whether a hand has to be declared correctly or simply shown is subject to the house rules of the game that are in effect. In a Casino the hand shown is the hand that counts. What is said doesn't. There are too many amateurs for it to work any other way.

Whatever is the best hand is what counts.

It's whatever is there, unless you're playing where you have to declare, but I've never seen that done before.
