We’ve have a reader question come in on the subject of poker hands. Let’s take a look:

Question: I am wasting my points for a reason I hope….Here is the question again….Please help!
Estimate on hand made poker tables?
My dad is a skilled carpenter. He was asked to make a table that is 36×36 and 30 1/2 inches high.It is made of ash wood 4 legs, all squared, table itself is squared as well. Each corner has a hidden cupholder that pulls out from under the table. The table top itself is ash on one side and if you flip it over it has felt on the opposite side. Also under the table top is storage for poker chips, cards, etc.Chairs would not be included. He gave the guy an estimate and the guy laughed at him and said he could get a lot more for a table like that.I don't want to tell you guys how much was estimated because it would sway your answers so please help me out and give an honest answer on how much you would pay please!!Thank you so much!!
Answer: I honestly don't know, but try going on E-bay and even if they don't have any on there for sell to compare to, go on ebay communities and ask around there. There would be more specialized people to answer such as collectors etc. Good luck!

I would pay no more than $200. For me, it would depend on the quality of the table.

I do not know how much a table like that would run… I try to be a smart consumer and look for the best deal. However I am feeling lazy today and do not feel like doing the research. It sounds like a nice table… so I would pay… $250. Yeah I know I am cheap.

    $450 for table
    $50 chair
These Prices because it is hand carved. Must be a nice table.

If its high quality and can seat 4 people you could probably get $500-600. However, people that buy poker tables are either looking for something quick and cheap for their weekly game or for a nice decorative piece of furniture for they finished game room. The first group is willing to pay $100-250 and the second group is expecting to pay $800+ so you're right in the middle. It might be hard to sell.

Get a good photo of the finished table and put it on Ebay first to sell it to the highest bidder. Make sure to put a minimum price you will accept on the offer to sell. Then, if your customer is truly interested in paying a fair price, he will beat the best Ebay bid by bidding himself online. It's as simple as that. Let the laws of supply and demand determine the outcome. Why should your father work hard and not receive the maximum price he can from his work?

Twenty-eight hundred dollars and not a penny more. Not that I've ever made such a bid, or asked for such a bid. Not that I know anything about pool tables, but I'll tell you one thing, the are so many variables that the guy should not have laughed.

You put in many details, but all I'm saying is, there are still a lot of details, and when I said "not a penny more" I was just kidding.

So hey that's the way it is, and another thing we out in these valleys where the nearest town isn't even the size of Winnemucca, we have no idea how you pipple do things in Alabama.

I would say 750-1200 depending on the details in the structure it self.
