What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I’m doing an internship this summer at a law firm that specializes in adoption related issues.

My goal is to learn as much as I can about these unethical criminals and the laws they use to destroy & take advantage of Natural families so that I can eventually use it against them.

(I was advised by a law student I met over the internet that is going to be a defense attorney. He said lots of defense attorney’s usually work for the state so that they can learn how they function.)

My only problem that I foresee is being able to stomach the crap I’m going to witness.

Any suggestions of blocking it out and pretending to be enthusiastic?

Answer: You won’t be working there long.

This will take practice but you can think of something else. Make the thought something pleasant that will counteract what you are experiencing. Works for me…

bite the inside of your cheek, the pain will distract you. But try not to draw blood, that may get you unwanted attention.

I think you’ll discover that there are bio moms who seek attorneys to help them place their babies for adoption and that you will not find the so-called corruption that you are looking for.

Except, Wouldn’t you have to be impartial to your feelings at a law firm? I mean, just because YOU don’t like adoption, that doesn’t make it against the law. I thought people went to law firms for LEGAL advise. Not personal opinions.

I mean, lets say you went into a Hospital, and the doctor who was treating you was also very religious, and was trying "get you closer to God" by telling you how bad and unnatural medicine is for you. Wouldn’t that upset you? It would me. I would wonder if this doctor was working with MY best interests in mind, and not pushing his own ideas.

I dont get it who is the criminal? The natural family or the attorneys or the person(s) willing to adopt?
I know for a fact that the natural families are not the criminal they are saints for allowing the child to hhave a life and wanting to have the child adopted is wonderful. The attroneys are not the criminals bc they are here bc they are to govern the situation and so on and so forth. The person(s) looking for a child to adopt are helping out the world by being so loving to care and love for the baby or child. Your post does not really get to the point. And as a natural mother I didnt really understand who the criminal you think would be??

The honest truth is that if this is field that you wish to work in you must look past your own opinions. If you want to work as a lawyer your job is NOT to gain ‘justice’ but rather to uphold the law. I have interned in law offices and with law enforcement and one of the realizations you need to face is that if your job is to uphold the law, that is all it is. It has nothing to do with morals or opinions. Sad, but true.

Furthermore, I am a but put off by you referring to ALL lawyers that do any work with adoption to be ‘criminals’. First off, if they are following the law, they are not criminals. Secondly, if it is a moral issue (as I assume it is) than that is fine but do not assume that your opinion is the only one that matters. I urge you not to enter a work field where you view everyone around you are horrible people that are all baby traffickers as it will negatively impact the working atmosphere.

"My goal is to learn as much as I can about these unethical criminals and the laws they use to destroy & take advantage of Natural families so that I can eventually use it against them."
-This statement gets under my skin because you should NOT be targeting those individuals who are currently working within the system. You have no way of knowing what they do and do not support in regards to their own personal beliefs. They are merely doing their jobs. If you truly want to help support SUSTAINABLE change then you need to work to change the system, not target the individuals who most likely have little to no say about the actual structure of the system. Attack policy, not people. Use what you learn and use it against the system, not "them" as in the lawyers etc as individuals.

I respect your opinion, and I hope you can respect others opinions enough not to enter their place of work and consciously make an effort to undermine them or label them as ‘criminals’. most likely, they are just individuals working towards causes they feel are right, just as you are.

In my experience, people filled with rage like you are rarely able to block it, as evidenced by the questions you continually ask here.

    Good luck with that.
