This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:
Read books on poker strategy. Do a search on Amazon for authors such as Dan Harrington, Phil Gordon, Daniel Negreanu, Annie Duke, Phil Helmuth, etc.
Practice - Play alot of poker. The more you play, the better you’ll get. Some of the best lessons you’ll ever learn about poker will be from your own mistakes or the mistakes of your opponents.
Join an online poker forum - Membership in most forums are free and you’ll find thousands of poker players sharing their own advice and experiences. They are also great places to ask specific questions related to poker and get tons of quick, solid feedback. Some good online poker forums include donkhard.com, 2 + 2, and cardsinner.com
Form a bankroll management strategy and stick to it like glue. The worst mistake most amateur poker players who want to make money is to play outside of their financial means. Poker is not typically a game of quick money, although sometimes folks get lucky. It is truly a game of many ups and downs, and you want to be sure that the stakes you are playing in are small enough so that if you sustain a loss at the table, the majority of your overall poker bankroll remains intact. A good rule of thumb is to never bring more than 2% to 5% of your total poker bankroll to the table. This ensures that you will always be able to return to the tables, even after loss.
Best of luck!

first off playing for money in real life is way different on the pc,
u need to watch ppl and there reactions
u need to track their bets and checks
basically all u can do is know poker rankings (1 pair 2 pair etc) and go with your gut
i think poker is the best game on earth
alot of ppls true colors show up on the poker table
keep playing and one day who knows…anything can happen in poker, your not done till your out of chips

I would suggest reading some books on poker, maybe follow some top pro’s blogs. A lot of blogs and poker information can be found at pokerroad.com so if you go there you will find a wealth of information on poker. Also if you are interested in my journey as a poker player, you can follow it at http://www.pocket99.blogspot.com
