A poker question that should definitely interest you all this week
Question: There are loads of different games & tourneys, but can you advise which ones would give you the best chance/odds of winning? (I play mainly low stakes or freerolls NL Hold’em)
I mean you can play heads up, 6 player, 9 player, 18, 36, 180, etc etc etc, 300 chips, double stack, steps, rush, etc etc. What has better odds?

Answer: There are no stakes that really give you a better chance of winning, although it is easier to come by money at low stakes, thanks to many more loose/ inexperienced players, it also presents a greater risk of catching a bad beat and losing on good hands.
I strongly recommend $1 Sit and Go super turbo 9 player tournaments, as you often are paired up against inexperienced players. Download sitngo wizard and taking the quiz while not playing online games to improve your familiarity with these styles of games, as they differ from regular ring games.
Also, there are different times of day that it is easier to play
3:00PM -5:00 PM EST has many bad players most weekdays, Friday nights from 9:30-12:00 have easy money on all micro stakes. Stay away from poker on saturdays though, as there are many more good players as compared to bad players.

If you mainly play low stakes and freeroll NL Hold’em, then you should play low stakes and freeroll NL Hold’em. Is this a trick question? Why would someone suggest that you play a game that you are unfamiliar with?
EDIT
The only way you can determine what game is best for you is to play and keep accurate records. Figure out what game has the highest return on investment for your skill set. Each game is different.

As Ketih said, there are no real games where you are statistically more likely to win. It all depends on what you like and what you’re good at.
As a rule, the less popular games like Razz and Stud HI/Lo are good games for still being able to catch the real fish that literally play without knowing the rules even. Apart from that the standrad of online poker has increased dramatically in the last 5 or so years.
Secondly, poker specific rooms, such as full tilt and stars aren’t the best place to start out if you’re looking to profit. Players at these rooms are true poker players who generally know the game well and practice to improve. The standard in these rooms is much higher than at some of the smaller rooms and rooms that are part of a larger casino (these ones are generally the best because you get gamblers floating across to the poker tables in between their slots or blackjack or whatever it is they play).
Lastly - Rakeback. If you’re genuinely looking to play for profit then sign up for rakeback at whatever room you choose to play at. Rakeback is where you will get a certain % of your rake fees paid back to your account each month. If you’re a regular player, this could amount to hundreds of dollars per month. It’s not available at all rooms, however where you can get it you’ll generally get paid between 25-40% of your rake fees back monthly. This can be the difference between you being a winning or losing player, especially if you haven’t got many years experience behind you.
