Keep the poker questions coming! I liked this one:
How would you play this hand?
UTG fold.
UTG+1 raise 2x BB ($8)
button fold
SB fold (me)
BB raise 4x BB ($28)
Pot is $38
UTG+1 called(apprx 1/3 of his stack) ($16)
Flop: 2c6c8c
BB push all in.
UTG+1 call.
BB show Ac6x
UTG shows 3c4c.
turn was a blank and river was A but no help.
Now “big blind is fumming”. He can’t believe anyone would call 1/3 of his stack on 3c4c.
What do you think? What’s wrong with calling 1/3 of your stack with 3c4c?
Basically if I’m the 3c4c, I see that I only have to put another 16 dollar to win 38 and that’s 2.4 to 1. Now my hand odd is 5.9 to 4 so I should call. And that’s exactly what UTG+1 did.
The Ac6x was furious that the caller made the call with 3c4c. He spent the next 4 hours argueing about that call.
What’s your opinion?
quit? What do you mean?
JB,
That's what I think too. I think the BB made a Donkey call. He shove all in after the flush came out. Now the UTG+1 read him correctly. He had put BB on Ac and possibly T or J. Even if BB had AK or AQ, UTG is still only 6:4 dog.
^(UTG+1) correction
^(UTG+1) correction
Jon,
You are right. I will do just that next I play him.
spending 4 hours pissed and vocal about it is just stupid and he needs to grow up, unless he wants to find himself no longer invited to poker games.

I think BB needs to learn how to play poker and realize that shit happens in poker. And he should ask himself why he was dumb enough to raise (when someone already called a significant bet) and he didn’t have anything but a hope and a prayer to do so….
Odd counters drive me nuts mostly because I don’t get the whole odd thing, but i sure love seeing them get beat when the odds go the other way!
Best thing you can do if you like the guy is just stroke his ego a little and say “I know man, what are the odds…..tough break on that one….” Oh yeah and then raise! LOL

BB should have know that all he had was one over card before going into the flop. mostly what this hand is, is BB getting unlucky, seeing a 6 with 3 clubs on the flop would have meant he still had 7 outs for a better flush, and the off chance that he would get a 6 and A on the turn and river for the boat.
alternativly if he didnt think UTG1 had the flush then he was in prime position of having hit the flop and haveing 4 cards to a flsuh because he probably thought that UTG1 had at best a pair of face cards or pokets.
personaly i think BB made a bad play he went in to heavy to early wihtout feeling out waht UTG1 had first, what makes this even worse is that he doesnt have position on UTG1 when he pushes all in he just hopes that UTG1 doesnt have anything.
so im going wiht UTG1, BB made a dumb move

Neither hand should’ve made a raise pre flop.

Bad plays here all over the place. If $16 was 1/3 of the stack after betting $8, so he started the hand with about $55?
OK, so he’s playing 2/4 no limit with only $55. That’s a mistake by itself. If you happen to be only 14BB, you can’t be making a preflop raise with 3 4.
Now, that being said, the big blind shouldn’t be re-raising to $28 with a crappy hand like A 6.
Once the raise was made, it’s a bad call, because you can’t assume that you are going to be able to stack the guy if you hit. He just re-raised your raise you are lucky to have two live cards.
On that flop, the guy hit a pair with the nut flush draw, if he thought that UTG had AK or AQ or something, it’s not a bad push, even if he’s beat he has outs, and the pair he already has is often good.
After all that… you still don’t go on tilt for 4 hours, you say nothing, make a note that he stinks, and try to get your money back. Of course, with a re-raise with A6, you probably aren’t good enough to get it, but that’s besides the point.
