What a great poker question:
Call
check
bet
raise
Your handed two cards where your given a choice to fold, check, raise. What am i doing when im checking exactly?? Lets say the dealer gives me a Jack and a 9 if he deals out a 7, 8, 10 wouldnt that give me a straight flush?
I was trying out party pokers training game and im still confused. I sort of know what raise and fold is i just dont really know when to use it.
Now, it is quite a complicated game, but you will get used to it and LOVE poker if you know whats going on. Now your are correct that does make a straight(5 card count) but a flush has all to do with the logos on the card, the term is the SUIT of your card, (ya know, spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs) if you get 5 of the same suit, then you have a flush. Having a STRAIGHT FLUSH (Royal flush) is when you have 5 matching suits (a flush) and a straight (5 card count)
But that is stuff you will understand when you have learned to play.
CALL: calling is keeping your cards, and paying the minimum bet. its like checking except you need to pay to stay in the game. The minimum bet is what everyone else needs to pay to play that round of cards.
CHECK: You can check if nobody raised the minimum bet, checking is keeping the cards in your hand, and keeping the minimum to 0, in other words: By paying NOTHING and staying in the game.
If you have the right to check a hand then everyone else also does, and it also means nobody raised the minimum bet before you, so it remains 0 and anyone can check. So you can’t always check, you need to pay to keep your cards if somebody raises the bet. One more thing to remember is, nobody can check on the first round, you must put in at least the minimum bet (CALL) on the first round of a hand (unless of coarse somebody raises.)
BET: Betting is raising the bet for the first time in a round, (if the minimum is 0, or when everyone can check.) If someone bets, the "check" option is no longer available.
RAISE: raising is raising someones bet to anything above it. It is simply raising the bet,(whatever it may be), so EVERYONE that is still in the game NEEDS to either put the same amount of money in the pot, or fold their cards, or they can raise even higher.

When you go first in poker, you can check to see how much the others are putting in.
You could also bet if you’re confident with your hand.
If the other goes first, you can call it and put in the same as what they put in or
You can raise it and put more in.

Call = someone raises and you pay the amount he raised.
Check = you don’t raise or you don’t fold. You want to see next card for "free".
bet = you bet a certain amount of chips and hoping the opponent to call you or fold.
raise = pretty much same than bet but for example: if someone bets (he bets 300 chips for example > you can raise to 700 chips for example)
and 7-J gives you a straight. Straight flush is for example: club of 7 to Jack. straight is any 7-J.
Here is a 25,000$ freeroll + other freeroll dailies + other free bonuses which you can use to start with if you’d like.

Answered a same kinda question before. So posting the same text here also.
Poker is a card game played with a standard deck of 52 cards. Cards are ranked from high to low as Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Aces are ALWAYS high.
Each player is dealt five cards. The object of the game is to end up with the highest-valued hand. From best to worst, hands are ranked in the following order:
Royal Flush (10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace)
Straight Flush: A straight flush is a hand that contains five cards in sequence, all of the same suit, such as Q⣠J⣠10⣠9⣠8â£.
Four of a Kind: Four of a kind, also known as quads, is a poker hand such as 9⣠9â 9⦠9⥠Jâ¥, which contains four cards of one rank, and an unmatched card of another rank.
Full House: A full house, also known as a full boat, is a hand such as 3⣠3â 3⦠6⣠6â¥, which contains three matching cards of one rank, and two matching cards of another rank.
Flush: A flush is a poker hand such as Q⣠10⣠7⣠6⣠4â£, where all five cards are of the same suit. If the hand also has all the cards in sequential order, it would be a straight flush.
Straight: A straight is a poker hand such as Q⣠Jâ 10â 9⥠8â¥, which contains five cards of sequential rank.
Three of a Kind: Three of a kind, also called trips or a set, is a poker hand such as 2⦠2â 2⣠Kâ 6â¥, which contains three cards of the same rank, plus two unmatched cards.
Two Pair: A poker hand such as J⥠J⣠4⣠4â 9â¥, which contains two cards of the same rank, plus two cards of another rank (that match each other but not the first pair), plus one unmatched card, is called two pair.
One Pair: One pair is a poker hand such as 4⥠4â Kâ 10⦠5â , which contains two cards of the same rank, plus three other unmatched cards.
High Card: A high-card or no-pair hand is a poker hand such as K⥠J⣠8⣠7⦠3â , in which no two cards have the same rank, the five cards are not in sequence, and the five cards are not all the same suit.
