Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:
Question: Hi what are good things to do to keep you from depositing more money on these online gambling sites, poker in particular? Losing 10 pound makes me think I’ll put another 10 pound and win that 10 pound back but I know it will end up in £0. However there is still part of me that will do it give me half the chance.. help!
Answer: Do you want to play poker? If the answer is yes then you’ll have to face the fact that you will most likely go broke few times at the start. Part of learning poker is learning bankroll management. If you picked the right tournaments with small buy ins then that £10 could have lasted a long time.
If you just want to gamble and keep depositing £10, well, don’t bother. Where’s the fun in that? Find something else to do.

cancel your account right now. Cut your losses while it’s still early. If you’re asking this question then you must not be that good at poker.

You have to realise £10 is alot of money and show self restraint

Only gamble money you can afford to lose - because you will over time every time. If you view the £10 as a night out and don’t expect any to be left then fine but it’s a mugs game and has ruined many lives, do not expect to come out ahead ever.
Cancel your account and find something else to do with your time

If losing makes you disproportionately upset (it’s ok to not like losing but it shouldn’t send you into despair) then you should stop playing, end of story.
On the other hand if you are ok around gambling (ie: don’t have a problem) and just don’t like risking your own money then claim some no deposit bonuses. There are a bunch for UK players here: http://www.goodbonusguide.com/poker-articles/online-poker-no-deposit-bonus-offers.html
Good luck!

It was only 2 hours between your first question regarding which stakes you should play, and THIS question!
You lost, and you will lose again. The only question is HOW MUCH would you like to lose?
Uninstall the program. Ask a friend to ban you from every possible gambling site they can think of, then have them change your password for the parental protection.
Beyond this, you still may need more help! It’s so hard to say after only 2 hours, though!
See how you’re feeling tomorrow. If you still don’t think you can control yourself, then get some help. Honestly, it’s a bit early to tell!

My first few deposits left me £200 down. However, this was over a year and money is not too big a problem for me.
I have since gone on to cover this loss and on top make an extra £600 (I play bigger size pots). Bear in mind, a friend of mine has lost and keeps losing…alot.
The win is not going to change my life nor is the losing. Only play what you can afford to win, knowing that if you lose it all, it wont effect your life. Play for fun, not the profit, unless you are pro and can afford to invest (and possibly lose) thousands.
