Answer: Side pots occur when one of the players involved in the hand is all in, and the other 2 or more players put more money in the pot. For instance, if there are 3 players, 2 have $300, one has $100, if they all go all in, the main pot would be $300 (3x $100, the smallest stack that’s all in), and the side pot is $400, the remaining money of the other two. They all compete for the main pot, but only the two biggest stacks compete for the side pot.
Pokerstars offers both real money and play money games, as well as freerolls. You don’t need money to play play money games, just play money. You get 1000 play money chips when you register, and then when you lose that you get 1000 more chips, up to 3x per hour. They also have freeroll tournaments, which are tournaments with real money prizes but which are free to enter. On Pokerstars for most freerolls you also don’t need to do a first deposit of any kind. For the real money games you obviously have to deposit, or win some money through the freerolls.
Good luck!

I would actually suggest that you buy a book, or go on youtube to watch a video, and before you join ANY site be sure to get a rake back deal. A rake back deal is a way for you to get money back on the hands that you play. It would be dumb not to do it. You check out the rake back calculator below for more info.
