This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: hello all

i play party poker some times and have become quite fond of it and i only play with play money (fake chips)… so basically just for fun

i was curious and was lookin around and i saw some REAL tournaments with real money prizes and the buy-in was $0.00!!!!

the first place prize was like 9,000 dollars

now this seems skechy to me… so are these tournaments that the buy-ins real? and are they safe to play?

THANKS!!!

Answer: Hey

I found this quote in a review of Party Poker: "As an extra Party Poker bonus you’ll find many freerolls, which run on a daily basis." So, yes they are real tournaments with real money. However, it would be likely that there would be up to 5000 participants and only prizes for the first 50 players or so. But surely, give it a try. You could be lucky.

If it says the buy in is 0, then it is indeed 0. However there may be a catch. It’s probably a freeroll for some kind of special going on. It could be a depositor freeroll, meaning you have to deposit with a certain code to get a ticket for this tournament. Or some other requirement. Check the details in the tournament lobby to find out how you can enter this tournament. Bottom line is yes, it is going to be legit.
