    Here’s a link.

First off learn the value of hands, learn to quickly identify what you have. Then read up on starting hand strengths. Learn about position, pot odds, and later implied odds.

But I’ll tell you now, the sites you are talking about are useless to learn the game. The standard of play is horrible and you’ll never learn anything.

I’d play on a major site like Poker Stars or Full Tilt. As you accumulate play money, you can move up to more ‘expensive’ tables (or tournaments). The standard of play does go up, and is certainly better than the children who play on the social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace.

Addiction sounds rather worrying Rammunition. Be careful of all games of chance - they ARE truly addictive. Just hope its a passing thing but while it lasts the only advise I can give is enjoy the game!

Here’s a good link for you from a friend’s site:

I checked out your site ZCT, nice site by the way, and this leads to a tip I’ll throw on here. This has to do with your article on “slow playing” where the player has a set of aces and an opponent makes a miracle draw on the river and beats you. Here’s the situation. When players run into this they often lament about how they should have bet out more to run these people out of the pot. However you never really want to run players with inferior hands probability wise out of the hand. Any time it’s unprofitable for an opponent to call, it’s to your advantage. You need to look at these decisions over time to decide what the correct play is and over 100 instances if they hit a few times and you win the rest then it’s a pretty good deal for you :) On the other hand you want to be careful with giving free cards or making it too cheap to call because if it’s profitable for them to call then that’s what you don’t want.

So it’s really a balance between risking them folding with lesser hands (which you never really should want in a cash game) and getting the most money out of them you can, and not giving away your hand too much while doing it.

When it comes to using “slow playing” correctly it really comes down to using deception in combination with the tendencies of your opponents. A lot of players tend to have a strategy which they use against just about everyone and that’s dead wrong. For instance, if you have a made hand and you’re up against an aggressive player, it makes more sense to slow play since it’s likely that he will lead the action and you can play back more later in the hand and make him play. Against a passive player you want to slow play a lot less because you’ll end up giving a lot of free cards and won’t get much in the pot. Against a calling station you of course want to bet it out more, and so on. So it really comes down to the player a lot more than just having a set strategy based upon your own hand.
