Question: i won a $1500 tournament and am wondering if i left a too small (or too big) tip
Answer: About 10% would be appropriate. Some do more but most do much less.

nothing. you won the tournament…why should they get paid for your poker ability? they don't pay you for their dealing ability.

The standard amount seems to be 5 - 10 percent. It is completely up to you however. If this is a local cardroom that you play at a lot you may want to tip more and if it is a card room you do not go to very ofter you may want to tip less.

The standard is between 5% and 10% of the winnings, but no more than the buy-in amount.

More often the house is taking "tips" for the dealers from the prize pools before any prizes are awarded. In this case a tip isn't necessary or expected, except for the top winners in a large tournament. In any case only 3-4% is appropriate.
