This week’s question is as follows:

Question: Evening Tournament
6:15pm (No-Limit Hold-em)

$18 Buy-in + $2 DAT
No Re-Buys/add-ons
Includes Jackpot

what does the DAT stand for.

Answer: I’m also sort of guessing. But, some venues specify that the registration fee is for tourney staff, not a house take. If that’s the case, perhaps it’s “Dealers and Tournament staff,” or something like that.

From the player’s perspective though, the important point is that $18 of your money goes into the prize pool which is paid out to the players. $2 does not go to players, so the takeout is 10% of the money brought to the game.

Don’t know, but usually a tournament will charge a little bit extra for the house’s cut, and most tournies are advertised as such, ie $100 + $10, but I’ve never seen it called DAT before
