I just love answering these poker questions. Here’s another:

Question: In a tournament we had a situation where another player told the table what he had in his hand while the hand was still being played and betting was still going on. It is my understanding that this is not allowed. Is it true that you are allowed to lie about what is in your hand but not to tell the actual cards in your hand?
Answer: it is true for you it is perfectly valid to lie about your hand, however, telling what cards you are actually holding will be considered as a folded hand

Normally, talking about your hand while it’s in play will automatically nullify a jackpot…(bad beat jackpot) at a live table. They just recently made it illegal at the Red Rock Casino in Vegas, to show someone who is not in the hand, your cards. However, I’ve never heard of lying about your hand or even telling players what you have, to be illegal in a tournament.
